Prof. Dr. Gürhan Kök has founded Istanbul-based data analytics company Invent Analytics in 2013 to build advanced analytics solutions. Invent Analytics currently has offices both in Turkey and the USA with more than 75 data scientists, serving global companies with headquarters in the US, EU and Turkey.

One of the leading researchers of his generation working in demand planning, Gürhan’s academic work has pioneered research in the fields of assortment planning, supply chain management and pricing. As a firm believer in research-led innovation, Gürhan has been collaborating with global retailers for development of new data technologies for 20 years.

Gürhan currently serves as a Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at Koç University in Istanbul. He’s the Academic Director of Koç University-Migros Retail Research Center. Prior to joining Koç in 2014, Gürhan was a tenured faculty member at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Gürhan also serves on the editorial boards of leading academic journals; Management Science and Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM).

Gürhan Kök received his Ph.D. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 2003.
